accumulated, but having done nothing meaningful.”
Of all the jobs and professions, a career in real estate is truly unique and perhaps the best career choice you can make. Here us out…
For starters, it offers one the ability to be engaged in meaningful and impactful work. As REALTORS we are held to a high standard and are expected to be knowledgeable about our industry and the areas we service. The nature of our work involves the application of this knowledge as we assist our clients with what can be a pretty involved and costly endeavor. Fortunately, we stand by ready to offer our expertise to help facilitate a smooth buying or selling process. With each closing a sense of true accomplishment exists as you are directly involved with each step. There is nothing greater than seeing the results of your efforts pay off at the closing table in the form of client satisfaction and appreciation as well as a rewarding paycheck! This is true meaningful work…Working in a profession where one puts the needs of others above their own is true noble work; a fading priority in today’s workplace.
Quickly attain wealth. As a real estate agent closing 3-4 transactions a month is a pretty simple feat; granted you’re with a firm that empowers you as opposed to one full of red tape. If each transaction were to average $6,000 in gross commission that’s $18,000-$24,000 per month!! We strongly disagree with the media’s common portrayal of money being tied to greed. Instead we believe money is simply an enabler and if used for good it can have great impact! Wealth prevents one from struggling to meet their baseline needs. It allows one to afford life’s luxuries without going into debt. Wealth affords one the ability to take care of family and friends, or to give back to the community. Wealth gives one the ability to explore the world to the fullest extent. We believe wealth is freedom and a successful career in real estate can easily put you on the path to riches.
Minimal Entry Requirements. Few career fields allow one to be fully licensed and able to get to work in as quickly as a month! So long as you meet basic license requirements, take and pass the 75 hour pre-licensing course, and pass the state and national exams you can become a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker!
Total Control Of Your Schedule and Earning Potential. As a real estate professional you have complete control over your time. Want to get your day started early so you can be winding down around 3pm? That’s fine! Some agents do real estate part time to supplement their income. Some have awkward schedules due to their families. Others want to ensure they have programmed time to break away and vacation. For those who are smart and efficient with their time, not only can they easily make these accommodations, but they can also remain profitable. Even more comforting is knowing that the more smart, efficient and hard work that you put in directly translates to more income received. You’re always in control of your earnings.
Avoid The Monotony. Many people begin a new career with enthusiasm but quickly get burned out by the lack of variety in the day-to-day operations. In real estate this is never the case. You’ll always be working with new clients, viewing new properties, analyzing new data and sifting through new metrics, solving new problems, and negotiating with new people. No transaction is the same which rids real estate of the banality common to many jobs.
Real Estate Skills Directly Translate Into Other Business Ventures. A successful real estate agent will quickly learn to wear many hats. You’ll manage the day to day operations of your business and those of your assistants. You’ll learn to conduct in-depth analysis and identify trends. From time-to-time you’ll serve as a counselor in a sense as you assist the occasional client going through a rough time. Your financial acuity will rise substantially as you manage your business finances, then analyze those of your clients to make the commensurate recommendations. Coordinating with various third-party vendors will be the norm and you’ll develop systems to ensure smooth processes. You’ll become a master of your own resourcefulness as your creative powers are called upon to quell the occasional road block. And you’ll enjoy the process of mastering these skills as those who do become a Master of Business (without the time, money, and lack of experience that comes with a degree in the same).
Why You Should Consider MAR
Although a relatively young firm, MAR’s quickly attained success can be attributed to its company philosophy which has created a culture of values, standards, productivity and camaraderie. Our methods are modern, innovative, realistic, and we offer a unique approach as compared to your typical real estate firm. If you’re interested in joining our firm we welcome you to read on to learn how we operate and to help assess if you’d be a good fit.
We believe that each member of the firm is an integral part of the team. Whereas many companies have a rigid hierarchical structure, MAR aims to empower its members. We understand that each person is truly unique in that we each have our natural born talents and gifts, skills we’ve worked to acquire, knowledge we’ve attained, and experiences. Our company culture and systems foster an environment where everyone’s voice has the ability to be heard. We’ve observed that this has led to strong feelings of support amongst the team and has had a positive impact on results for us all.
MAR recruits team members based on character. Skills can be taught, tools can be bought, but character is built overtime. From one’s character their values and fit within the team can be assessed. Our emphasis on bringing on agents who embody positive character attributes helps insulate the firm from those who may cause inner turmoil and/or reflect poorly on the firm in the public’s eye. This benefits us all. We will not bring on agents simply for numbers sake. It’s commonly said that a team is only as good as its weakest link. In the world of business, poor character is an extreme vulnerability and is bad for business.
Our training is unmatched! Quality training seems to be a dying priority amongst firms with many firms offering little to no training for their agents. Of the firms with an actual training system they tend to recycle the same generic and outdated teachings that fail to get into the depths of information that can provide a competitive edge. At MAR we take education seriously and have a unique methodology that keeps our agents at the cutting edge of data, trends, actionable content and mindset. We take pride in offering regular (twice a week) and IN-PERSON training as opposed to virtual training that loses the essence of human interaction. That being said, we’re modern and still work to accommodate those who prefer to attend training virtually. We’re also unique in that we train our agents in a diverse range of topics to include an extensive focus on investment real estate, helping them with their own investment endeavors and preparing them to take on investor clients.
Everything you need, nothing you don’t. The combination of diverse experience amongst our agents, the manner in which we empower them and our growth focused mindset has allowed MAR to build a strong knowledge base. This knowledge allows us to maintain a strong pulse on the industry which we use to strategically select the systems and tools to offer our agents. We don’t fall for all the industry gimmicks that cause unnecessary costs and processes for our agents. We maintain a lean operation and our offerings simply produce results. This allows us to keep expenses low for our agents increasing their profitability.
More Than Just Real Estate:
We’re a tight-knit group and can often be caught hanging out as a team outside of our professional work. If camaraderie and positivity is something you value in the workplace perhaps consider joining the team
Are You A Veteran or Active Duty Member?
Military service can be one of the best indicators of success in business. Service Members are extremely intelligent, their jobs often requiring that they develop expertise on complex equipment and machinery. They have to understand and correctly implement robust systems and apply them in ambiguous training exercises and real world scenarios. Military members are known for their ability to be given a task and call upon their creativity to create a viable plan to achieve mission success. They are made to work in austere environments and interact with foreign cultures, often for extended periods, and they do so with minor grumblings. Repeated training exercises and deployments put service members in harm’s way, yet they embrace these dangers and face them with courage. Service members understand the value of the Team and how self-absorption is detrimental to the team and the overall mission. If you’re a veteran (or still actively serving), have good character, and are considering a career in real estate, Mission Accomplished Realty wants you.
Our Boots to Suits Internship Program (BSIP) was designed to assist Service Members transitioning from the military into the business sector as real estate professionals. This program takes advantage of a little known program offered through the Army’s Career Skills Program (CSP). The CSP provides Service Members with the ability to intern with a company where one can gain employment skills training, on the job training, licenses, certifications, accreditations, and even engage in sales (with a few minor caveats)! Even greater, the program allows for the individual to intern regardless of their duty station and the internship period can last up to 6 months! With most of our new agents closing on their first transaction within 45 days you could be licensed, trained and well on your way to achieving your financial goals before your separation.
The Boots to Suits Foundation (our charity foundation) may be able to provide support in the form of financial aid to cover pre-licensing/licensing costs. Be sure to inquire about this!
